FIRST AID STOCK

The regulation states that first aid boxes must be provided ”Where more than five employees are employed at a workplace” to oppose or minimize the risk of major injury and assist in reducing the probability of employees being hospitalized.

Items used for first aid purposes should consistently be replaced as soon as possible. It is essential to appoint a certified first aider to conduct inspections of the first aid boxes to ensure that they contain the prescribed ”minimum contents” by law. Inspection sheets should be included in each box to consistently warrant compliance with the Safety act. Products contained in the box should also be inspected for expiry dates; expired items should be discarded and replaced promtly. Proper practice includes the use of a formal first aid register for the recording of incidents.
